Battersea Park was this year’s home of White Gallery 2016, the BIGGEST bridal trade show in our calendar and Wedding Ideas were there to see it all!

Wedding Ideas Bethan and Annie (junior designer and online editor) visited the show this year and were two of the first people to view the latest collections of some of our favourite designers! Everyone from Muscat Bridal, Ivory&Co., Charlotte Balbier, Harriet Wilde, Charlotte Mills, Alan Hannah, Katya Katya Sherhurina, Ruth Milliam and many more were attending.

First stop of the day was Alan Hannah’s fashion show! The models showcased his new designs effortlessly; gliding down the catwalk the dresses did all the talking!

We wanted to share with you some of our favourites from his collection and designs trends that are taking centre stage this season…

Off the Shoulder

Alan Hannah uses this season’s ultimate trend of off-the-shoulder sleeves to add to this traditional trumpet shaped wedding dress. The pleated overlay off-the-shoulder sleeves and the use of satin give a sophisticated style.

Florals

Designers are adding florals this summer, ideal for the non-traditional bride. For a bohemian or botanical themed wedding this could be the perfect addition to your day. Alan Hannah uses the florals faintly so that all of the attention is still on you on your big day!

Cape

Wedding Ideas loves capes! This addition to the classic styled dress is a winner at all times of the year in unpredictable British weather. The material, the belt and of course the cape oozes sophisticated Hollywood glamour!

Layers

This dress is for the laid-back bride who wants to feel comfortable on her big day! The soft material was easy for the model to move in and the added layer that’s cropped at the front and lengthens into a train at the back is stunning from all angles.

Annie and Bethan then got to visit the stands and speak to the designers themselves about their newest collections! Here are a few images from the stands of the designers that they spoke too.

Ivory & Co

Florals making an appearance in gold tones under a layer of tulle in Ivory&Co.’s opening number! Their signature collection of tiaras shone just as bright. Unconventional brides could opt for the pieces on ‘Vine’ for a more comfortable alternative shown on the model here.

Zaeem Jamal

The dramatic beaded long sleeve one shoulder gown from Zaeem Jamal got a big reaction from the guests at the show! The only dress like it in the show, it was definitely one to remember. The proportion of the skirt and the layers of material balance out the statement arm.

Savin London

Colour, layers or floral, this collection has it all! Traditional or unconventional there is something for every bride here using trends from this season. The opening entrance of the peach layered A-line dress wowed the audience followed by the more traditional gowns from start to finish!

Eliza Jane Howell

Our friends of Eliza Jane Howell did not disappoint with this seasons collection bringing their signature 1920’s style into a whole new light! This jumpsuit was a firm favourite of Wedding Ideas with the overlapping layer across one side. The heavily beaded and sequined iconic style is perfect for a bride who loves the era.

It’s all about the back this season with Donna Salado! You spend a lot of time with your back to your guests at the ceremony so it’s good idea to have some back detail on your dress. Every bride should get the double gasp when you walk towards your groom and away from your guests!

Katya Katya Shehurina

Blush is a must-have colour this season and Shehurina have incorporated it perfectly using it as an under layer of a beautiful white lace detailed dress. Illusion material is also a favourite of Sherhurina. Pairing it with a full skirt creates a beautiful contrast.

Ruth Milliam

Powerful beadwork mixed with feminine florals is the centre of Ruth Milliam’s 2017 collection. Mixing tones of gold, off-white and grey, Ruth has created the ultimate collection for a bride who loves a dramatic dress!

Rasha

Rasha incorporates illusion material with beading alone to detail the top of this dress. The soft flow of layered skirt contrasts the detailed sleeves perfectly and is ideal for a location wedding!

Charlotte Balbier

Balbier brides closed the show and what a finale it was! Florals, colours and two pieces made a statement collection and a definite favourite of ours at Wedding Ideas! Be bold and blooming beautiful with a floral dress from Charlotte Balbier’s 2017 collection this season!
