How important is it to choose the right bridal underwear?

A woman’s wedding day is one of the most important and special days of her life, and she wants to feel beautiful and sexy on the day.

As a result, choosing the right bridal underwear is almost as important as choosing your dress and should never be an afterthought. It can seem like a daunting task, but it really doesn’t need to be.

What bras work best with a wedding dress?

This really depends on the style and shape of your dress, but what is important is that your bra is comfortable, fits to perfection and flatters your figure whilst making your dress look its best.

Should I buy bridal underwear or my wedding dress first?

Ordinarily, I would say always buy your dress first as until you know the silhouette, fabric and style of the dress, you don’t know what type of lingerie you will need.

However, it may be worth investing in a backless bra and taking this along with you to your dress fittings, even when you are still trying on different dress options.

The versatility a backless bra means you can alter the straps to suit different dress shapes, whether it be a strapless or low-back dress.

Do I need just one set of underwear for my wedding day?

If you’ve opted for something more practical for your wedding day, why not have a set for your wedding night to change into that will make you feel sexy?

Or you may feel you want to keep the same lingerie but change into a sexier colour, maybe from a more classic cream to a sultry black.

What colour should my bridal underwear be?

Many brides opt to go for a traditional white set of lingerie on their wedding day, but depending on the material of your dress, a bright white could actually be visible under your dress, so a cream shade can be better.

That said, there’s no rule to say you have to stick to neutral shades; you could match your bridal underwear to your reception decor, bouquet flowers or even have it as your ‘something blue’!
