The Great British Bake Off always brings us the very best in home baking magic.

While the show may be notorious for causing us to give in to temptation, it’s also packed full of wedding inspiration. The show has everything from dessert tables inspiration, edible favours, and even Great British Bake Off wedding cakes in previous years.

Frances embraced all things rustic when she created her colourful Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding cake.

Featuring three tiers of ginger, lemon drizzle, and carrot and pineapple cake, this wedding cake showstopper is decorated with Frances’ homemade edible confetti, fresh fruit and – in a nod to the artistic bakes she is known and loved for – little marzipan bees!

Nadiya’s Great British Bake Off wedding cake will always have you swooning. Nadiya baked this three-part cake using lemon drizzle cake because it’s her husband’s favourite flavour. She decorated it with beautiful jewels, beading and blooms inspired by a sari.

As per Bangladeshi tradition, Nadiya and her husband didn’t have a wedding cake. So, not only was this a GBBO-winning bake, but it was also a sentimental cake for Nadiya and her husband to celebrate their years of marriage.

2013 finalists Ruby and Kimberley also baked wedding cakes. Ruby’s represents a romantic buttercream sunset (pictured below) and Kimberley’s a more traditional offering of quilted fondant, pearls and romantic script prints.

While this isn’t a wedding cake, we had to include John Whaite’s famous ‘heaven and hell’ cake. It was made of dark chocolate orange on the base and topped with coconut meringue and sheets of gold leaf. A completely unique twist on a wedding cake and a great centrepiece.
